A Community for the San Francisco Bay Area and Beyond

Welcome! I started this Ning to give us a place to learn, and promote the wonderful work of Jean Liedloff in "baby wearing", co-sleeping, breast feeding and natural child birth, for parents and children as well as adults who want to heal their own sense of not belonging and start to build new tribal communities locally to share resources intergenerationally.

I have searched and found a few sites that address her work but most are solely for parents with young children and leave the rest of us out of the picture. We need an intergenerational community.

It saddens me that there is not more information when I search on youtube and google for the Continuum Concept and I would like us to start to change that with our own videos of people using the concepts with their children and in their lives.

I would also like to see if we can empower ourselves in the spirit of Jean Liedloff' work, to naturally create ways to heal older children and adults so we can be happier, more fully functional parents, friends and part of the community.

Trying a new way of interacting with my son

I have been reading some of the articles on the Continuum Concept site and discussing them with my partner and it all made a lot of sense to me.

My son, Isaac, is 5 and a half years old and he has a stubborn nature. So do I, and we were ending up clashing with almost every conversation we had recently. Every time I asked him to do something he would just argue, argue, argue. He HAS to have the last word and I felt as though we were doing nothing but fighting all the time. I was… Continue

Daily veg-inspiration from World Peace Diet; Healing of Our Children

As we look more deeply at our food, the healing of our children can begin, and our work can be resurrected as an instrument for blessing and bringing joy and caring to our world.

Thoughts on Childhood: what went right and what went wrong

I am definitely a different breed. I was reading a review and comments about the Daniel Quinn books and most people just thought the ideas were not very exciting, and that one could worry about our plight as a species or simply go along for the ride and have fun. I can’t imagine not caring and not seeing that his work is seminal. It is not new information to me but there is a refinement of the information that makes it worth so much more.

The Liedloff work is the same. I have heard… Continue
